Text topic – Beauty and body image in the media

(The lexis concerning the topic includes: top models; diets; beauty industry; cosmetics; the promotion of thinness; weight loss; today’s beauty ideal. eating disorders; the promotion of the skinny in women’s magazines, at the cinema and on TV.

A. Comprehension: Equivalents – vocabulary exercise; True/False; Questions on the text.

B. Structure: concessive (despite, in spite of; although / though / even though; If-clauses 2nd type; word formation- formation of adjectives, nouns, verbs. adverbs of manner. (Some suffixes – noun suffixes – ity, ness, ion, ship; adjective suffixes – ful, less; verb suffixes – ize, ate, fy; adverb suffix – ly. Some prefixes: un- dis- im- mis-)

C. Composition. The composition will be based on the students’ personal experience in the topic selected.

11th form regular

It is highly recommended that those students who haven’t yet posted their works in their eportfolio hurry up doing it. Otherwise, they’ll have one of their evaluation items slightly impaired.
